A RED TOWER AND THE SEA
Masseria Cimino is an ancient farmhouse with tower, built in 1700 just a few meters from the sea, in Savelletri di Fasano, in the heart of Puglia and now is used as a guest house of the San Domenico Golf, an 18-hole golf course with beautiful views between olive trees and the Adriatic Sea. It's a timeless place, accessed by a quiet Roman road near the archaeological remains of the ancient city of Egnatia.
DESIGN/ARCHITECTURE
Masseria Cimino has 14 rooms, some of which are located in the ancient tower and others in the renovated cottages that overlook the archaeological site which is part of the excavations of the ancient Roman city of Egnatia. The Masseria has been completely renovated preserving its original structure, architectural features and in full respect of the original materials, shapes and colours. The dominant style in every corner of the farm is the most typical Mediterranean and interiors are rustic: bunches of tomatoes and prickly-pear leaves dangle from rough lime-plastered walls pierced with arches and alcoves, stone fireplaces and terraces overlooking the countryside and the Adriatic sea. It's an earthy, friendly place that retains the air of a traditional working farm.
CUISINE
From breakfast to dinner you can enjoy all the flavours of traditional Apulian cuisine, either half-board or full board. You will be able to choose between a dinner served at the table and an abundant buffet dinner based on local dishes cooked by the typical Massaia. In the summer months, you can look forward to a four-course dinner served outdoors. Expect a choice of appetizers such as seasonal vegetables from the gardens, local cured meats and cheeses; then main courses like orecchiette, chickpea soup or lasagna. On Friday there is usually freshly caught fish and all meals are accompanied by excellent local wines. In Masseria Cimino, there is also a bar lounge where you can relax sipping signature cocktails prepared by the talented barman.
EXPERIENCES
The service is homey and familiar, and you'll be able to attend small group cooking classes with resident chef Grazia in a very convivial manner.
You can also rent a bike and take long sunset rides in the surrounding countryside or book a boat tour. You can then give space to your skills as a golfer having fun in the San Domenico Golf Club that surrounds the Masseria and that has an 18-hole course perfectly integrated into the natural context of Puglia: enriched by olive trees of rare beauty and dotted with the colours and scents of typical Mediterranean vegetation such as thyme, rosemary and sage.
